The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Lewis throws a hook to the side of Fourie's head but Fourie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Fourie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fourie wants to control but Lewis is keeping him busy.
Lewis is trying to stand up here but Fourie is controlling him well.

Fourie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lewis is trying to maintain the position but Fourie is very close to passing his half guard.
Lewis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fourie kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Lewis is looking for a sweep. Fourie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fourie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fourie's back!

Lewis is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fourie is defending well though. Lewis let's go of the attempt for now.
