Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Torii Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Borowiec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominic Borowiec has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Torii Mays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominic Borowiec!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Borowiec.
Borowiec stuffs the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mays.
Borowiec feints and then cracks Mays's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mays down.
A thudding body kick lands there by Borowiec!
Mays falls off balance throwing a combination
and Borowiec counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Mays decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mays is trying to control the action in half guard but Borowiec is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mays really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mays wants to get back to his feet.
Borowiec moves into full guard.
Mays wants to stand and escape but instead Borowiec has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Borowiec has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mays is proving hard to escape from.

Mays will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mays is on top in guard.
Borowiec is looking to stand up but Mays isn't so interested in that idea.

Mays has gone for a leg lock! Borowiec slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mays's guard.
Mays is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Borowiec decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mays pivots, looking for a leg kick but Borowiec is out of range and Mays settles back down.
Mays tries to clinch but Borowiec moves away
and Borowiec counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Mays tests Borowiec's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Borowiec stuffs the takedown attempt from Mays. Mays gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Torii Mays. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mays walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Borowiec is looking to clinch but Mays is avoiding it.
Mays avoids a kick to the body.
Horrible takedown by Mays or perhaps it was just good defense by Borowiec which made him look bad.
Borowiec thumps Mays with a low kick.
Mays fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A solid body kick from Borowiec.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mays moves in looking to clinch but Borowiec pushes him off.
Borowiec wants to clinch.
Borowiec throws a sloppy head kick and Mays moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dominic Borowiec will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Borowiec throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Borowiec scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mays doesn't seem bothered though.
Borowiec leaves Mays with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Borowiec cracks Mays with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A bone on bone clash there as Borowiec blocks the leg kick.

Mays takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mays has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Borowiec.
A solid body kick from Borowiec.
Torii Mays is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Good leg kick by Borowiec there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Mays closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mays is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Borowiec knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Borowiec sneaks out the side door and pushes Mays away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Borowiec counters with a head kick. That will keep Mays thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Torii Mays seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Borowiec buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Borowiec cracks the inside of Mays's front leg.
Mays chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Borowiec can pounce on him.
Borowiec fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Borowiec lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Mays is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Dominic Borowiec showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Borowiec counters with a good, hard body kick but Mays shrugs it off.

Borowiec wants to clinch up but Mays keeps it at a distance.
Mays drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Borowiec makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

That kick from Borowiec tenderised Mays's leg. Mays is trying to keep his angry face on.

Mays closes the distance and pushes Borowiec back into the cage.
Mays is trying to break the clinch but Borowiec has him pressed against the cage.
Mays blocks an elbow strike.
Borowiec lands an elbow just above Mays 's eye.
Borowiec tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mays avoids it.
Mays looking to stall.
Borowiec gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Borowiec throws an elbow that misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Borowiec just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mays's brow.

Borowiec breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Borowiec - that will leave a mark!
Mays shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Borowiec as he avoids it easily.

Mays tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Borowiec smiles and moves away.

Borowiec lands an elbow that stopped Mays in his tracks for a moment.
Borowiec lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Borowiec is working Mays over against the cage.
Borowiec lands a nice knee to the body.
Borowiec tries a knee to the head but Mays blocks it.
Borowiec lands an uppercut.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Borowiec.
Borowiec lands an elbow inside.
Mays is looking for a takedown.
Mays takes an elbow to the forehead.
Borowiec lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Mays will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Borowiec pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mays crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Borowiec - the referee stops the clock and Mays gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Borowiec. Mays manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Borowiec closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Torii Mays has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dominic Borowiec is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mays misses with a punch on the inside.

I've got Borowiec winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
