Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soviet Russia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blue Sky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russia comes to the cage accompanied by Soviet National Anthem. Blue Sky will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Russia circles away.
Russia looks to land a combination but Sky avoids it well.
Soviet Russia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Russia doesn't manage to clinch there - Sky circles away.

Russia fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sky.

and Russia counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sky's guard now.
Sky is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sky is looking for a triangle but Russia pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sky is trying to keep Russia in close.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Russia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Russia stays in close to Sky's body and controls the position.
Russia loads up on a big left hand. Sky felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Russia looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Sky can't hide his disappointment, as Russia celebrates the victory.
