The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman blocks a head kick by Rogers.
Rogers lands with a kick to the ribs.
Rogers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Coleman.
Coleman takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Coleman tries for a takedown but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A combination from Rogers does no damage.
Rogers throws a hook but Coleman avoids it easily.

and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Coleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rogers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rogers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Coleman won't allow Rogers to get back to his feet.

Coleman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Coleman is in close to Rogers's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Coleman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Coleman winds up and cracks Rogers with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Coleman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rogers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Coleman.

Rogers is looking to escape.
Coleman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Rogers!
Coleman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rogers's face.

Coleman is landing with some decent strikes but Rogers is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rogers is rocked!
Coleman unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Rogers wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Coleman celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dark Coleman!
An out of breath Dark Coleman thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
