The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sung Jung closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sung Jung makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Monattu misses with a punch to the body.
Sung Jung lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Sung Jung is trying to push Monattu away but Monattu has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sung Jung breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sung Jung closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Monattu's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sung Jung decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Monattu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sung Jung swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Monattu shoots in looking for a takedown. Sung Jung tries to sprawl out of it but Monattu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sung Jung manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Sung Jung decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Monattu's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Horrible takedown by Monattu or perhaps it was just good defense by Sung Jung which made him look bad.

Monattu throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sung Jung.

Sung Jung tries to bum rush Monattu with a series of wild strikes but Monattu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sung Jung is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Sung Jung is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Monattu manages to get to full guard.
Sung Jung stands and steps away. Monattu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Monattu shoots for a double leg takedown but Sung Jung sprawls well. He's pushed Monattu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Monattu tries to clinch up but Sung Jung circles away and keeps his distance.
Sung Jung feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sung Jung got a little sloppy there for a moment and Monattu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sung Jung has managed to get both his arms back between Monattu's legs - danger averted.
Sung Jung gets to his feet. Monattu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Sung Jung counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
