Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Claude Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Knowshon Zavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thompson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to If Rap Gets Jealous by K'naan. Thompson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Claude Thompson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Knowshon Zavier's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zavier throws a big shot that misses.

Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zavier was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zavier has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Thompson is working away from the top position though.

Zavier moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Thompson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zavier works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Zavier manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zavier avoids the attempt from Thompson to control.

Thompson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Zavier wants to take a breather but Thompson is having none of it.
Thompson wants to control but Zavier is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Zavier is taking a breather. Thompson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Thompson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Zavier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Thompson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Thompson is nestled in close to Zavier, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Thompson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's time! Thompson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Zavier has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Thompson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zavier manages to avoid it.
Zavier misses with an uppercut. Thompson saw that one coming.
Zavier paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like Claude Thompson has been cut.
Thompson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Thompson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Claude Thompson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Zavier throws a body punch but Thompson moves out of range.
Zavier changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
No joy there for Zavier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zavier stuns Thompson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Thompson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zavier circles away.
Zavier throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thompson.
Thompson slips under a jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Thompson misses with a straight right.
Zavier throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Zavier lands a jab to the head.
Zavier takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Zavier lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Claude Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Thompson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zavier swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Zavier misses the jab.
Thompson on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Thompson throws a shot from downtown. Zavier moves away and avoids it.
Thompson dives in and grabs Zavier's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zavier pushes down on Thompson's head and hops out.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zavier. Thompson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Zavier works the jab nicely.
Zavier fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thompson gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Zavier gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Knowshon Zavier!
