The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melamies is looking to clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Nicitel. That snapped Melamies's head back.
Nicitel lands a jab to the nose.
It looks like Mikko Melamies has been cut.
Nicitel throws a right and a left that Melamies avoids nicely.
Nicitel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Melamies's guard.
Melamies wants to stand but Nicitel is controlling the position.
Nicitel slips nicely into half guard.
Nicitel wants to control but Melamies is keeping him busy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Nicitel is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Nicitel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Melamies defends it well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Melamies tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Nicitel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A right handed body shot lands from Melamies.

Nicitel ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nicitel no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Melamies wants to get up but he can't break Nicitel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Melamies trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Nicitel pulls Melamies in close to his closed guard and prevents Melamies from doing any damage or advancing position.
Melamies has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nicitel is proving hard to escape from.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nicitel is on top in guard.
Melamies wants to stand up but Nicitel is controlling him.
Nicitel passes Melamies's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Nicitel is tying to control. Melamies wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Nicitel prevents Melamies from standing back up.
Nicitel uses his free foot to push down on Melamies's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Melamies.

Nicitel is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Melamies has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nicitel works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Melamies wants to get back to his feet.

Nicitel landing strikes from the mount and Melamies is in trouble!
Nicitel wants to control the pace but Melamies is squirming around nicely.
You get the feeling that Melamies really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Nicitel with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
The referee warns Melamies that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Melamies is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Melamies is squirming around, avoiding Nicitel's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nicitel wants to finish this one by submission but Melamies is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nicitel.

Melamies tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Nicitel counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Melamies throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mikko Melamies is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Melamies tries to close the distance and clinch but Nicitel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nicitel swats away the attempt to clinch by Melamies.
Nicitel gets the takedown into side control.
Melamies is letting Nicitel control him for a moment.
Nicitel prevents Melamies from escaping the position.
Nicitel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Melamies, who protects the arm well.
Nicitel trying to control the action but Melamies is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Melamies tries to escape but Nicitel is in control.
Nicitel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Melamies knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nicitel has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Melamies!
Nicitel lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Melamies hang on?
Nicitel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Melamies's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
BOOM! Nicitel connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Melamies really wants to buck Nicitel off and get back to his feet.

Melamies is in a horrible position here. Nicitel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
A nice elbow there by Nicitel.
You get the feeling that Melamies really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Melamies is bucking up trying to escape but Nicitel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Melamies tries to buck Nicitel off but Nicitel takes his back!
Nicitel is persistently looking for the submission but Melamies is defending it well.
Melamies has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Nicitel is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Melamies with him. Melamies is trying to defend but Nicitel has an arm under the chin now! Melamies grimaces and is forced to tap out!
