PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Albert Anastasia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anastasia comes to the cage accompanied by hellrazor. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace stuffs the takedown.
Anastasia defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wallace.
Anastasia fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Wallace gets caught flat footed, as Anastasia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wallace can't keep his opponent in guard - Anastasia advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wallace is looking to improve his position.
Wallace is pressing down on Anastasia's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Anastasia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Anastasia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Anastasia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anastasia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wallace had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anastasia defends it easily.
Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wallace is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Wallace is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Anastasia defends well.
Anastasia is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Wallace manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wallace has his foot on Anastasia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Anastasia works his way back into a safe position though.

Albert Anastasia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wallace dives in and scores a takedown into Anastasia's guard.
Anastasia wants to stand but Wallace is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anastasia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wallace is controlling him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wallace stops Anastasia from getting back to his feet.

Wallace is working for an americana but Anastasia has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Wallace was thinking about the submission.
Anastasia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anastasia swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Albert Anastasia will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anastasia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Anastasia loads up on a big left hand. Wallace felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Anastasia looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Wallace can't hide his disappointment, as Anastasia celebrates the victory.
