Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Mullins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pertti Sparraaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brad Mullins looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brad Mullins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pertti Sparraaja!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sparraaja fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mullins sprawls well initially but Sparraaja persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mullins looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Sparraaja is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mullins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sparraaja.

Sparraaja is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sparraaja not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sparraaja scores a takedown into full mount!
Sparraaja misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Sparraaja swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mullins is now in Sparraaja's guard. A big mistake from Sparraaja there, giving up the dominant position!

Sparraaja has his foot on Mullins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mullins works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sparraaja looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mullins passes into side control.
Mullins wants to control but Sparraaja is keeping him busy.
Sparraaja manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Sparraaja is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sparraaja is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Mullins has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mullins is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sparraaja is pressing down on Mullins's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mullins is holding on for now.
Mullins is looking for a sweep. Sparraaja is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sparraaja shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mullins's guard.
Sparraaja throws a big right hand that misses.
Sparraaja is working Mullins over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Sparraaja throws a strike but Mullins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pertti Sparraaja dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mullins closes the distance and clinches up with Sparraaja, looking for a takedown. Mullins pushes Sparraaja against the cage but Sparraaja circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sparraaja scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Sparraaja is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mullins defends it well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sparraaja throws a strike but Mullins manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Sparraaja tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brad Mullins!
