Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lutz Kilian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitsuyo Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilian's entrance music is Post Break-up Sex. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilian lands with a slapping head kick.
A combination from Maeda does no damage.
Kilian with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Horrible takedown by Maeda or perhaps it was just good defense by Kilian which made him look bad.
Kilian scores with the left hand. Maeda knows he should have avoided that one.
Maeda avoids the head kick by Kilian.
A head kick misses from Kilian.
Kilian fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Maeda is out of range.
Maeda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kilian avoids it really well and circles away.

Maeda takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Maeda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kilian misses with a low kick.
Maeda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kilian closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kilian pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Maeda is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kilian is defending well.
Lutz Kilian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitsuyo Maeda.

Maeda manages to pull guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Maeda pulls Kilian in close to his closed guard and prevents Kilian from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kilian wants to stand and escape but instead Maeda has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Maeda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kilian swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Maeda tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Maeda wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Maeda is looking for a triangle but Kilian pushes his legs off easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Lutz Kilian will probably get the nod.

Kilian throws a leg kick which misses Maeda's front leg but catches the back leg as Maeda tries to avoid it.

Kilian ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maeda moves away.

Kilian shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Maeda takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Maeda shoots in but no luck this time.
Maeda takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Lutz Kilian is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kilian has closed the distance and engaged Maeda in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maeda lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Maeda is just content to waste time from the top position. Kilian takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Maeda is pushing down on Kilian's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kilian is fighting to maintain full guard but Maeda has managed to sneak the leg through.

Maeda is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kilian reverses the position - he's now on top in Maeda's guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kilian feints and then cracks Maeda's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maeda down.
Maeda misses with a hook. Kilian ducked under it nicely.

Kilian tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Maeda throws a sloppy head kick and Kilian moves out of range easily.
Kilian fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maeda.
Maeda tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kilian paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kilian misses the shot to the body.
Kilian tries a head kick but it misses.
Kilian swats away the attempt to clinch by Maeda.

Kilian gets caught flat footed, as Maeda shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maeda slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kilian wants to sweep but no luck.
Kilian can't keep his opponent in guard - Maeda advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kilian moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Maeda is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kilian to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kilian shrugs it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Maeda is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kilian has managed to escape the submission attempt.
