Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kale Sunnin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sunnin as he jumps to the side.
Sunnin avoids a kick to the body.

Wilson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sunnin is trying to defend but Wilson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sunnin wants to get back to his feet.
Wilson tries to pass to full mount but Sunnin defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sunnin is not content to let Wilson control the position.
Wilson tries to stand and escape but Sunnin actually recovers to full guard.
Sunnin has control of Wilson's left arm, preventing Wilson from doing any damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Wilson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sunnin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wilson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Sunnin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wilson won't be happy with that.
Sunnin controls the position.
Wilson can't do much from the bottom here.
Wilson tries to improve position but can't.
Sunnin just content to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kale Sunnin just wasn't active enough.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wilson.

Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown but Sunnin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wilson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sunnin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wilson's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wilson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sunnin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wilson shoots in for a takedown but Sunnin shows good takedown defense.
Sunnin works over Wilson's head and body with a nice combination.
Wilson is looking to clinch but Sunnin is avoiding it.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wilson, as that shot connected.

Sunnin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Wilson.
Wilson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Wilson throws a head kick that Sunnin semi-blocks.
Wilson is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Sunnin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kale Sunnin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Wilson.
Sunnin keeps the fight on the outside.
Wilson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wilson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sunnin tries to avoid it but Wilson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sunnin to the ground. Sunnin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wilson wants to clinch up but Sunnin keeps it at a distance.
Sunnin misses with a jab, cross combination.

Sunnin tries to land knees in the clinch but Wilson avoids the damage to the body.

Sunnin wants the takedown. Wilson is fighting it off but Sunnin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wilson's guard against the cage.
Sunnin passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sunnin is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wilson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kale Sunnin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Wilson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sunnin throws out the jab.
Jake Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilson wants to clinch up but Sunnin keeps it at a distance.
Sunnin shoots in for a double leg but Wilson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown. Sunnin tries to sprawl out of it but Wilson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sunnin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wilson is on top in guard.
Kale Sunnin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
