Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Van Dam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Tar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Dam comes to the cage accompanied by C R E A M By The Wu-Tang Clan. Tar has chosen I Come From A Land Down Under as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Van Dam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Tar!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Tar misses.
Van Dam misses with a few strikes there.
Van Dam throws a right and a left that both miss.
Van Dam looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tar fails to land with a series of punches.
Tar uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Van Dam has time to react.
Tar throws a looping overhand right but Van Dam ducks down to avoid it.
Good standup being displayed there by Tar as he connects with a hook.
Van Dam has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Brian Van Dam has been cut.
Van Dam will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Good shot there by Tar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tar scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Tar pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Tar is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Tar's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Tar duly obliges.
Van Dam misses with a series of wild punches.
Van Dam throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Dam misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Van Dam works Tar's body with a nice hook.
Tar misses with the combination.
Tar slips a jab and a cross from Van Dam.
Van Dam misses with a few strikes there.
Tar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Van Dam loads up on a big right hand but Tar slips the punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tar uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Van Dam has time to react.


Brian Van Dam's cut is getting worse.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Van Dam throws a series of punches but Tar moves out of range.
A left and a right from Tar both land. Nice combination.
No joy there for Van Dam, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Van Dam swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Van Dam throws out a loose jab but Tar uses good head movement to avoid it.
A punch combination from Tar misses.
Tar avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Van Dam slips a jab and a cross from Tar.
Van Dam misses with a series of wild punches.
Van Dam misses with a body punch
and Tar counters with a one-two to the body.
Van Dam fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tar has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Tar throws a left that rocks Van Dam and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Tar dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Van Dam regain composure!


Van Dam is rocked!


Brian Van Dam's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Tar advances to full mount.
Oh Van Dam is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Van Dam has left one of his arms exposed and Tar doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Van Dam screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Tar!
Jack Tar seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
