Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jalen Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Martin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hill wants it to stay on the feet.
Martin works the jab nicely.


It looks like Jalen Hill has been cut.
Martin scores with a one two! Hill had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Martin misses with a takedown attempt - Hill sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Martin gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Martin works to advance to full mount. Hill defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Martin stands up from mount. Strange move.

Martin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hill quickly recovers to half guard.
Hill is refusing to be controlled, as Martin sits in half guard.
Martin trying to mount his opponent but Hill defends it.
Hill is staying active underneath Martin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Martin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like Martin is going to stand back up.

Martin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hill defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill wants to sweep but Martin has passed to side control!
Martin tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Martin is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hill looks calm but he's in trouble here. Martin gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hill is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Martin lets go of the hold and Hill can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Andrew Martin!
Andrew Martin took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'He didn't want to show up for our first scheduled fight. I guess I proved right here tonight exactly why that was!'.
