The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Aldo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Aldo drops back looking for a leg! Ali Baba is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ali Baba manages to kick Aldo off! Aldo jumps back into Ali Baba's guard.

Aldo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ali Baba manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Aldo has Ali Baba in his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aldo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ali Baba defends well.

Aldo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ali Baba doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ali Baba manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
