Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Batu Hasikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carmelo Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Batu Hasikov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Batu Hasikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carmelo Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez takes one to the side of the head.
Hasikov swings widly with a right hand

and Sanchez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Sanchez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hasikov to get to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hasikov takes one to the chin there.
Hasikov throws a jab but it's blocked by Sanchez.
Hasikov misses the jab.
Hasikov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Hasikov waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Sanchez. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Sanchez to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Sanchez is rocked!


It looks like Carmelo Sanchez has been cut.

Sanchez is still in real trouble! Can Hasikov finish him?

Sanchez wriggles free and stands up.
Sanchez seems to have recovered his senses.

Sanchez scores with a kick to the body.
Hasikov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sanchez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sanchez lands a really nice looking cross but Hasikov seems unphased.
Hasikov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sanchez. Sanchez obviously looking to wear him down.
Hasikov misses with an uppercut. Sanchez saw that one coming.
Hasikov swings widly with a right hand
and Sanchez counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hasikov throws the left hand but Sanchez avoids the punch easily.
Sanchez lands a head kick. Hasikov smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Sanchez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hasikov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sanchez.

and Sanchez counters with a thumping low kick.
Hasikov is breathing heavily.

Sanchez lands a big head kick that sends Hasikov tumbling to the mat! Sanchez takes a step backwards and waves Hasikov back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Batu Hasikov has been cut.
Sanchez throws a series of punches but Hasikov avoids them all with ease.
Oh Hasikov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nice body punch from Sanchez.
Hasikov seems to have got his legs back now.
Sanchez slips a straight right by Hasikov.

Sanchez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hasikov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Sanchez throws a body punch but Hasikov moves out of range.
Hasikov loads up on a big right hand but Sanchez slips the punch.
Batu Hasikov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sanchez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Hasikov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Hasikov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sanchez sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Sanchez digs a good body shot into Hasikov's ribs.

Sanchez lands a big head kick that sends Hasikov tumbling to the mat! Sanchez takes a step backwards and waves Hasikov back to his feet - he wants the finish!

and Sanchez counters with a stiff right hand.
Batu Hasikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hasikov throws an off balance right hand
and Sanchez counters with a thumping low kick.
Sanchez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hasikov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hasikov thuds his right hand into Sanchez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Good leg kick by Sanchez there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Sanchez looking to score a takedown here. Hasikov is defending well but Sanchez drives through and ends up in Hasikov's guard.
Hasikov wants to stand and escape but Sanchez is having none of it.
Sanchez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hasikov is trying to escape the position but Sanchez is controlling the position.
Let's hope that Sanchez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Sanchez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hasikov bucks up and tries to throw Sanchez off but instead Sanchez has got his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Sanchez controlling the positon.
Hasikov holding both Sanchez 's hands and preventing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez is riding his opponent, not letting Hasikov buck him off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carmelo Sanchez dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sanchez connects with a body shot that sends Hasikov's belly button to the back.
Hasikov avoids the body shot from Sanchez.
Sanchez throws the left hand but Hasikov avoids the punch easily.
Sanchez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hasikov.
Sanchez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Sanchez moves away from the strike by Hasikov.

Sanchez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sanchez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hasikov, up you get!

Sanchez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sanchez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hasikov was covering up waiting for the punch and Sanchez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sanchez dives in and scores a takedown into Hasikov's guard.

Hasikov is working an open guard so Sanchez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sanchez lands a leg kick that knocks Hasikov off balance momentarily.

Hasikov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

and Sanchez counters with a low kick, right behind Hasikov 's knee.

Sanchez lands a left and a right that send Hasikov crashing to the mat, dazed. Sanchez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Sanchez! Hasikov is out on his feet! Sanchez rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Hasikov is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Hasikov is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carmelo Sanchez!
