Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Putnam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Primo Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Putnam's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, tap out. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putnam takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Putnam fails with the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Putnam as Hernandez shoots in.
Hernandez misses with a takedown attempt

and Putnam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Putnam stands and throws Hernandez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hernandez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Putnam in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Putnam tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Putnam has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Putnam is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hernandez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Putnam gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hernandez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Putnam lets go of the hold and Hernandez can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ronnie Putnam!
After winning the bout, Ronnie Putnam thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
