Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Guily (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Lavarello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Guily!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Lavarello!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guily throws a head kick that misses.
Guily lands with a straight right. Lavarello didn't see that one coming.
Nice sprawl there from Guily as Lavarello shoots in.
Guily throws a shot from downtown. Lavarello moves away and avoids it.

Guily fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lavarello, pushing him back against the cage.
Guily tries to break the clinch but Lavarello is controlling the position.

Guily escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Guily shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Guily was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lavarello is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Guily raining down shots from the mount!
Guily wants to control the pace but Lavarello is squirming around nicely.
Lavarello regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lavarello makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lavarello.

Lavarello working for a triangle but Guily defends it easily.
Guily trying to control but Lavarello is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lavarello throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Guily controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lavarello trying to control the position.
Lavarello trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Lavarello has a closed guard, preventing Guily from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Guily wants to clinch.
Guily tries to bum rush Lavarello with a series of wild strikes but Lavarello uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lavarello gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Guily breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lavarello shoots in but Guily avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lavarello looks gassed!
Guily closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lavarello circles away.
Lavarello gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Guily counters with a shoot takedown. Lavarello fights it but they end up in guard.
Jay Guily has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Lavarello.
Lavarello working a defensive guard but Guily manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lavarello tries to improve position but can't.
Lavarello is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lavarello manages to get back to half guard.
Lavarello tries to get to full guard but Guily has control of the leg.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lavarello wants to control but Guily is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lavarello missing with punches from the bottom.
Guily prevents Lavarello from improving his position.
Lavarello makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lavarello.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guily trying to control but Lavarello is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lavarello is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lavarello accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lavarello is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Guily is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Guily has escaped and now he's on top!
Guily won't allow Lavarello to sweep him here.
Lavarello keeping full guard, as Guily tries to pass.

Guily decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lavarello, up you get!

Lavarello scores a takedown into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lavarello avoids the attempt from Guily to control.
Guily regains half guard.
Guily pushes Lavarello off looking to stand but Lavarello dives back in and keeps control.
Guily wants to control but Lavarello is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Guily works his way to full guard. Good work.
Guily trying to keep a closed guard but Lavarello is proving a slippery customer.
Lavarello prevents Guily from getting back to his feet.
Guily is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lavarello decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Guily works over Lavarello's head and body with a nice combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Guily throws a sloppy head kick and Lavarello moves out of range easily.

Lavarello clinches up against the cage.
Guily is trying to break the clinch but Lavarello has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Guily dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Guily stuffs the takedown.
Lavarello darts in trying to clinch

and Guily counters with a single leg into guard. Lavarello didn't expect that.
Lavarello is trying to control the position but Guily postures up.
Guily forces his way into half guard.
Lavarello is pressing down on Guily's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lavarello tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lavarello throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Guily escapes and throws Lavarello's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Guily decides to stand back up. Guily steps back and let's Lavarello get back to his feet.
Guily lands a really nice looking cross but Lavarello seems unphased.
Guily circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Lavarello drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Guily follows Lavarello to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Guily!
