Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Callaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ocho Rockstar!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockstar is looking to clinch.
Rockstar leaves Callaway with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Rockstar as Callaway shoots in.

Rockstar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rockstar working the head and body with strikes.
Callaway wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Rockstar controls the position from side control.
Rockstar tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rockstar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Rockstar stands up.
Callaway fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Callaway. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rockstar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Callaway defends it nicely.
Rockstar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sloppy strikes from Callaway. Those never looked like landing.

Callaway tries to clinch up.

Rockstar moves into the clinch successfully.

Callaway jumps guard and drags Rockstar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Callaway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rockstar sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rockstar trying to control the position from guard on top but Callaway is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rockstar is standing up over Callaway. Callaway looks to escape but Rockstar dives into side control.
Rockstar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Callaway struggling a bit here.

Rockstar tries for a kimura but Callaway is defending well.
Callaway can't do much from the bottom here.
Rockstar grinds an elbow into Callaway's temple.
Rockstar looks up at the clock and then as Callaway takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rockstar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Callaway is not content to let Rockstar control the position.
Rockstar tries to move to mount but Callaway blocks the move with his legs.

Rockstar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rockstar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Callaway's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rockstar is looking to take a break and control but Callaway is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ocho Rockstar dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Callaway fails with the takedown.
Rockstar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Callaway moves away.

Rockstar shoots in and bounces Callaway off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rockstar trying to control but Callaway is working from the bottom.
Rockstar controls from within his opponent's guard.
Callaway working a defensive guard here.

Rockstar tries to free his leg and advance position but Callaway is retaining full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Callaway is working an open guard so Rockstar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Callaway dives in and grabs Rockstar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rockstar pushes down on Callaway's head and hops out.

Rockstar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rockstar wants to control but Callaway is keeping him busy.

Rockstar decides to stand back up.
Callaway misses with a takedown attempt - Rockstar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Callaway. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Callaway tries to clinch but Rockstar moves away
and Rockstar counters with a right hand to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Callaway fails with the takedown

and Rockstar counters with a shoot takedown. Callaway fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rockstar gets to his feet. Callaway looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rockstar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Callaway's half guard.

Rockstar stands up from half guard.
Rockstar finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rockstar shoots in and drives through. Callaway sprawls well.
Rockstar attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Callaway tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rockstar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rockstar closes the distance and clinches.
Rockstar is trying to break the clinch but Callaway has him pressed against the cage.
Rockstar stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Callaway successfully pulls guard.
Rockstar is looking to work some ground and pound but Callaway has wrist control.
Rockstar pushes down on Callaway's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Callaway wants to get back to full guard but Rockstar has mounted him!
Rockstar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Callaway is in all sorts of trouble here.
Rockstar avoids the attempt from Callaway to control.
Rockstar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rockstar is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Callaway can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ocho Rockstar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Callaway shoots in looking for a takedown. Rockstar tries to sprawl out of it but Callaway keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rockstar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Callaway lands with an overhand left.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Callaway.
Rockstar checks a leg kick.

Rockstar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ocho Rockstar has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rockstar content to control rather than advance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rockstar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Callaway knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rockstar is trying to control. Callaway wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rockstar lands strikes from half guard.

Rockstar stands up from half guard.
Callaway closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rockstar counters with a shoot takedown. Callaway fights it but they end up in guard.
Callaway can't keep his opponent in guard - Rockstar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rockstar passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Callaway!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rockstar with a couple of short strikes.
Rockstar is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rockstar controlling the position easily from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Callaway wants to control but Rockstar is having none of it.
Rockstar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rockstar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Callaway can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rockstar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Callaway looks a forlorn figure.
Rockstar breaks from Callaway's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Callaway is in a horrible position here. Rockstar smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Callaway is working to get back to half guard.
Callaway tries to hold on but Rockstar postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Callaway is looking to get to half guard.
Matt Callaway has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ocho Rockstar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Callaway is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ocho Rockstar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rockstar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
