Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
black has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Griifin finds it's way round the side to connect with black's head.
black looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Griifin is fending him off so far but black persists. Nope, Griifin circles away and we're back to standing.

black gets caught flat footed, as Griifin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Griifin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
black controls Griifin momentarily but Griifin frees himself.

black unloads with some shots from mount but Griifin bucks and avoids them well.
Griifin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Griifin has his foot on black's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. black works his way back into a safe position though.

black wants to stand but Griifin is controlling his posture from full guard.

black tries to free his leg and advance position but Griifin is retaining full guard.
black wants to get up but he can't break Griifin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
black gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Griifin to counter with a crisp jab.
Griifin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around black's waist but black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griifin off to one side.

and Griifin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Stewie Griifin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mr black.

Griifin thows a body shot but no joy.

Griifin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Griifin is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griifin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, black has escaped the position, nice work there.
Griifin works to advance to full mount. black defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Griifin looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

black is looking to improve his position but Griifin isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

black tries to clinch there but Griifin circles away.
Griifin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
black closes the distance but Griifin moves to the side
and Griifin counters with a series of strikes. black will be more careful next time no doubt.
Griifin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Griifin is looking to wear down black with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Griifin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Griifin tries to clinch but black moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Griifin does no damage.
black doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Griifin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Griifin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. black turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Griifin off and cradles black's limp body as Griifin celebrates with his corner.
