The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman blocks a head kick by Bigod.
Bigod misses with a low kick.
Chapman connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Waleran Bigod has been cut.
Chapman fails with a takedown attempt.
Chapman is looking to clinch but Bigod is avoiding it.
Bigod missing with a left hand there. Chapman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Chapman darts in trying to clinch
and Chapman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like John Chapman has been cut.
Chapman blocks a head kick by Bigod.
Chapman tries to clinch but Bigod moves out of range.
Chapman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bigod sprawls well. Bigod wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chapman gets slowly back to his feet.

Chapman tries to clinch but Bigod is having none of it.

Chapman tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Bigod counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bigod swats away the attempt to clinch by Chapman.
Bigod throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bigod cracks Chapman with a right hand to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fight stays on the outside here - Chapman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Bigod connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Chapman wants to break free but Bigod has control.

John Chapman's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Bigod has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Bigod circles away from the clinch attempt
and Bigod cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Chapman is countered with a crisp right hand from Bigod that sends him to the canvas! Bigod follows him to the mat into side control.
