PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ajax Valhar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Nwachukwu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valhar comes to the cage accompanied by Strange Clouds. Ajax Valhar has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ajax Valhar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Nwachukwu!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valhar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nwachukwu lands with a hook. Valhar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Nwachukwu throws a nice outside leg kick.

Valhar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nwachukwu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Valhar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Valhar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nwachukwu has escaped the position, nice work there.
Nwachukwu is trying to control Valhar's posture but Valhar avoids it.

Valhar tries for a kimura but Nwachukwu is defending well.

Valhar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nwachukwu has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Valhar but great work by Nwachukwu.

Valhar seems to be looking for submissions.
Nwachukwu pushes Valhar off looking to stand but Valhar dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valhar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nwachukwu defends it well.

Valhar wants to pass the guard but Nwachukwu is defending well.

Valhar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Valhar is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Valhar looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Valhar is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nwachukwu has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nwachukwu!

Nwachukwu wants to pass the guard but Valhar is keeping the position.
Nwachukwu trying to control the position from guard on top but Valhar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Valhar isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nwachukwu stacks Valhar on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nwachukwu!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valhar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ajax Valhar dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Nwachukwu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Valhar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Valhar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Valhar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nwachukwu is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Valhar has hold of Nwachukwu's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nwachukwu manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Valhar is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nwachukwu can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Valhar is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Valhar!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ajax Valhar!
