The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johanson tries to avoid it but Palhares manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johanson to the ground. Johanson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johanson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Johanson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Palhares looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johanson is fending him off so far but Palhares persists. Nope, Johanson circles away and we're back to standing.

Jeorge Johanson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Housimar Palhares.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johanson lands a hook that stumbles Palhares back into the cage. Johanson follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Palhares to the canvas! Johanson pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Palhares has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
