Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Smithf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Tulev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jerry Smithf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Tulev!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tulev fails to land the takedown.
Tulev lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Tulev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smithf avoids it really well and circles away.
Tulev tries to clinch

and Smithf counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Tulev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smithf gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tulev throws his legs up looking for a submission but Smithf uses it to pass to side control.

Tulev is trying to escape the position but Smithf is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smithf throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tulev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smithf is in Tulev's guard.

Smithf is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tulev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smithf.

Tulev tries to roll over but Smithf keeps him under control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Viktor Tulev hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Smithf closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Smithf looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tulev slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Tulev is breathing heavily.

Smithf is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Tulev is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smithf stands and throws Tulev's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Smithf decides to stand back up. Smithf steps back and let's Tulev get back to his feet.

Smithf decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Tulev is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Tulev shoots in but no luck this time.
Smithf changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tulev tries to avoid it but Smithf manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tulev to the ground. Tulev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smithf changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tulev looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Smithf lands an elbow.
Tulev tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Smithf is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tulev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Tulev is trying to control Smithf's posture but Smithf avoids it.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Tulev wants to control but Smithf postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jerry Smithf.
