Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khadaffi Janjalani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Machine May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
May doesn't manage to clinch there - Janjalani circles away.
Janjalani looks for a takedown but May sprawls well.
May misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
May throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Janjalani.
Janjalani moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
May misses with a takedown
and Janjalani counters with a slapping leg kick.
Janjalani buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
May tries to clinch but Janjalani moves away
and Janjalani counters with a two punch combo.
May misses with a leg kick

and Janjalani counters with a nice double leg into side control. May won't be happy with that.

Janjalani decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Janjalani closes the distance and clinches up with May, looking for a takedown. Janjalani pushes May against the cage but May circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
May misses with a right hand

and Janjalani counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in May's guard now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
May is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Janjalani pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. May is keeping the position for now.

Janjalani preventing the sweep.
Janjalani passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Janjalani looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
May parries the strikes from Janjalani easily there. Janjalani is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable May to escape.

Janjalani is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. May knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Janjalani is breathing heavily.

Janjalani tries to advance to mount but can't.
May is trying to improve his position.
Janjalani tries to move to mount but May blocks the move with his legs.
May tries to buck Janjalani off but Janjalani is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Janjalani tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Janjalani has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Janjalani is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. May knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
May is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Janjalani asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

May gets caught flat footed, as Janjalani shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Janjalani trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Janjalani works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Janjalani trying to pass the guard but May defending well.
Janjalani winds up and cracks May with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Janjalani is trying to work for a kimura but May is defending well.
Janjalani works his way into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Janjalani looking to secure an arm triangle but May defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
May wants to control but Janjalani is having none of it.
Janjalani won't let May get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Janjalani landing strikes, looking to finish!
Janjalani lands with some strikes.
May in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Janjalani is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. May can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


It looks like Machine May has been cut.
May wants to hold on but Janjalani pushes him away.
Janjalani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Janjalani scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish May?
May is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
May manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Janjalani stops May from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
May keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Janjalani not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
May gets back to full guard.
May lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Janjalani!
May with a couple of short strikes.

May gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
May swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Janjalani counters with a left and a right that stings May.

Janjalani gets a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
May wants to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Janjalani passes to side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khadaffi Janjalani dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Machine May's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Janjalani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and May holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Janjalani jumps guard.
Janjalani is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Janjalani is trying to work for a kimura but May is defending well.
May is looking to escape.

May pushes Janjalani off and gets back to his feet.
Janjalani stalks May and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into May's face. May staggers backwards, shaken.
May misses with a double jab

and Janjalani counters with a takedown into side control.
May trying to control but Janjalani flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Janjalani is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and May taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Janjalani.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Khadaffi Janjalani!
