The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabunagan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oenomaus moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
John Renzo Cabunagan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oenomaus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Some wild striking there from Oenomaus.
Cabunagan throws a sloppy head kick and Oenomaus moves out of range easily.
Oenomaus throws a body kick that misses.
Cabunagan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Oenomaus back to the cage. Cabunagan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Cabunagan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Cabunagan is looking to stand up but Oenomaus won't let him.
Cabunagan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Oenomaus is trying to control the position but Cabunagan postures up.

Cabunagan gets to his feet. Oenomaus looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Cabunagan throws a right and a left that Oenomaus avoids nicely.

Cabunagan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oenomaus did well to prevent Cabunagan getting side control.

Oenomaus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cabunagan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cabunagan's back!

Cabunagan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oenomaus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cabunagan is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Oenomaus is working for a rear naked choke. Cabunagan is not defending it well and Oenomaus has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Cabunagan refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Cabunagan's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
