The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connely shoots in but no luck this time.

Connely gets caught flat footed, as Vasquez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Vasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Connely is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vasquez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vasquez's back!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Connely is striking well from the back but Vasquez escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

Connely stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Vasquez has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Connely manages to get his head free but now Vasquez has transitioned to an armbar! Connely grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Vasquez! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
