Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Nottingham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nottingham comes to the cage accompanied by Bawitdaba-Kid Rock. Matt Nottingham had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acton decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Acton prevents Nottingham from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nottingham feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Acton is trying to escape the mount but Nottingham keeps good control and instead manages to take Acton's back.

Nottingham has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Acton has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Nottingham is looking for a triangle but Acton pushes his legs off easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Acton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nottingham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Acton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Acton lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Acton cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Nottingham is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Matt Nottingham overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Acton is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Nottingham has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Acton is looking to defend but Nottingham has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Acton! Nottingham pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Acton taps out and this one is all over!
