The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen blocks a leg kick.
Cottenfifther lands with an overhand left.

Cottenfifther decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cottenfifther slips a nice elbow through Chen's hands, connecting with Chen's forehead.
Cottenfifther is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Cottenfifther wants to advance to full mount but Chen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Cottenfifther throws a strike but Chen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cottenfifther manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cottenfifther cracks Chen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Chen avoids a strike by Cottenfifther and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Cottenfifther's guard! Fantastic escape!
Chen won't allow Cottenfifther to sweep him here.
Chen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cottenfifther on the ground.
Cottenfifther not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cottenfifther is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cottenfifther dips to his left and cracks Chen with an uppercut!
Chen looks to throw the jab but Cottenfifther is out of range.

Chen moves into the clinch successfully.

Chen doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Chen misses with a hook from the clinch.

Cottenfifther tries to break the clinch but Chen is controlling the position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Chen.
Cottenfifther swings wildly with an uppercut but Chen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cottenfifther lands a shoulder strike.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cottenfifther is trying to drag Chen to the mat but Chen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Chen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cottenfifther backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juanito Cottenfifther dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cottenfifther throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chen's waist but Chen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cottenfifther off to one side.

The fighters circling - Chen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cottenfifther shoots in but no luck this time.

and Chen counters with a crisp right that sends Cottenfifther to the canvas! Chen follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
