Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Goodridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Voll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voll has chosen Monster Magnet - Powertrip as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Frank Voll has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Voll misses.
Goodridge cracks Voll with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Goodridge scores with a three punch combo!
Goodridge shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Voll is trying to defend but Goodridge finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Voll tries to get to full guard but Goodridge has control of the leg.
Goodridge seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Voll does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Voll kicks off Goodridge and gets to his feet.
Goodridge misses with a wild combination.

and Voll takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nice sprawl there from Voll as Goodridge shoots in.

and Goodridge counters with a one-two to the body.

and Goodridge counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Voll's guard now.
Goodridge has gone for a leg lock! Voll slips out almost immediately though and dives into Goodridge's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Goodridge working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voll doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Voll manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Voll postures up in Goodridge's guard and throws a big left but Goodridge blocks it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Goodridge holds on and takes a little breather.

Goodridge manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Voll manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goodridge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Voll swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Gary Goodridge wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Goodridge shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Voll but Voll pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Goodridge lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Goodridge fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Voll throws the left hand but Goodridge avoids the punch easily.

Goodridge uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Voll.
Voll moves into range and connects with a jab.
Voll cracks Goodridge with a right hand to the side of the head.

Voll jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Frank Voll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Goodridge counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Goodridge.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Goodridge working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Goodridge wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Voll, who protects the arm well.
Voll is trying to control Goodridge's posture but Goodridge avoids it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Voll can do anything to dispel that myth.
Goodridge happy to just control the position for now.
Goodridge advances to full mount.
Goodridge working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Voll looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Goodridge! Submission of the night perhaps?

A very excited looking Gary Goodridge rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
