Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Mitrione (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muhammed Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a nice inside leg kick.
Horrible takedown by Mitrione or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad.
Mitrione takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mitrione moves out of range of the body kick.

Lee moves into range and clinches up with Mitrione.
Mitrione is looking to take this one to the mat.
Lee connects with a knee to the head.

Lee lands with a kick to the ribs.
Muhammed Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Lee makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Mitrione really felt that one!
Mitrione shoots in looking for a takedown but Lee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mitrione's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mitrione moves away.
Mitrione fails to land the takedown.
Lee pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lee.
Lee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mitrione manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lee tries to clinch up but Mitrione circles away and keeps his distance.
Mitrione has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lee.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lee feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mitrione's calf.
Lee delivers a nice body kick.

Lee fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Mitrione shoots in but no luck this time.
Lee throws a chopping leg kick but Mitrione manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Mitrione shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lee defends it nicely.
Mitrione fails with a takedown attempt.

Mitrione is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lee tries to clinch but Mitrione is having none of it.
Mitrione tries for a takedown but Lee sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lee moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Lee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mitrione. That did some damage!
Mitrione avoids a kick to the body.
Lee darts in trying to clinch

and Mitrione counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mitrione tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.
Mitrione won't allow Lee to get back to his feet.

Mitrione works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lee tries to get to full guard but Mitrione has control of the leg.
Mitrione wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it.
Mitrione perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mitrione works his way into full mount!
Mitrione looking to ground and pound but Lee is blocking nicely.
Mitrione controlling his opponent.
Mitrione lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Mitrione looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lee is squirming around, avoiding Mitrione's attempts to control the action.

Lee with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mitrione shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mitrione is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Mitrione extends the arm and Lee is forced to tap!
