Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jin Takeda!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeda shoots in for a takedown but Banks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Banks, right into the meat.
Takeda scores with a decent looking hook.
Takeda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Banks pinned against the cage. Banks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Takeda misses with a takedown attempt - Banks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bob Banks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jin Takeda.

Takeda shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Takeda was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Takeda is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Banks to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Banks shrugs it off.
Banks really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Takeda unloads with some shots from mount but Banks bucks and avoids them well.

Takeda pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Banks regains half guard.

Takeda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Banks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takeda.

Takeda wants to pass to mount but Banks is defending the position.

Takeda is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Banks defends it well.

Takeda wants to free his trapped foot but Banks is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banks is looking to control Takeda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Banks avoid being mounted?
Banks is trying to get back to full guard.

Takeda is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Takeda is looking for a kimura but Banks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Takeda to get the leverage.

Takeda is working for a kimura here but Banks manages to reverse the position and he's now in Takeda's guard.
Takeda wants to sweep here but Banks controlling him for the moment.

Takeda had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Banks defends it easily.

Takeda is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Takeda working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Banks has passed into half guard!

Banks is keen to just control but Takeda is a slippery customer.
Banks wants to stand up but Takeda has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Takeda tries to roll over but Banks keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Banks is pressing down on Takeda's thigh, looking to free his foot. Takeda is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Takeda dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Takeda tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Banks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Takeda scores with the left hand. Banks knows he should have avoided that one.
Takeda avoids the body shot from Banks.
Takeda lands with a hook. Banks tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jin Takeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takeda tries to score a power double leg takedown but Banks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takeda somewhat.
Banks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takeda.
A looping hook to the body misses from Banks. Takeda does a little dance to reset his feet.
Takeda moves forwards but Banks connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Takeda fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Banks on the side of the head.
Banks takes a swing at Takeda's ribcage but misses.
Banks looks for the body kick but Takeda saw that one coming.
Banks misses with a body shot.
Takeda jabs Banks right on the nose. Banks blinks but takes it well.
Takeda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Banks swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd cheers as Takeda lands an impressive looking overhand right. Banks doesn't seem phased though.
Takeda throws a lazy uppercut
and Banks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Takeda takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Banks ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Banks scores with a hook to the body. Takeda takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Banks tries to move into range but Takeda moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Banks's corner calls for a 1-2. Banks obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Takeda fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takeda uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Banks.
Bob Banks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takeda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Banks defends it nicely.
Banks pivots, looking for a leg kick but Takeda is out of range and Banks settles back down.
Takeda throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Takeda takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Banks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Banks cracks Takeda with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jin Takeda has got the better of the ground game so far.

Banks connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


The cut above Jin Takeda's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jin Takeda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Bob Banks!
Bob Banks gave a mention to Namunamu Clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
