PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ming Maoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pettis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is UFC - Face the Pain. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maoki has managed to clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pettis drops back looking for a leg! Maoki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Maoki manages to kick Pettis off! Pettis jumps back into Maoki's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Pettis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Maoki leaves Pettis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pettis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Pettis jumps guard but Maoki turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Pettis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maoki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
