The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Makarov.
Makarov trying to control the position but Barris is working away.
Barris struggling a bit here.
Barris is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Makarov is trying to get an arm triangle but Barris is defending well.
Makarov wants to control but Barris is keeping him busy.

Makarov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Barris sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Barris is trying to get back to full guard.
Barris throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Barris lands a decent punch to the body there.
Makarov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Makarov throws a big elbow that misses.
Makarov is looking to stand up but Barris won't let him.
Makarov trying to control the position from guard on top but Barris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Makarov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Makarov is posturing up here but Barris has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Makarov tries to roll out but it's too tight and Makarov has to tap! Slick submission there by Barris!
