Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Clement (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hong Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clement comes to the cage accompanied by Infinite Mass - Bullet . Li has chosen The Mars Volta - as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Clement!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Hong Li!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Clement avoids the head kick by Li.
Li is looking to clinch but Clement is avoiding it.
Clement walks forward, straight into a front kick from Li.
Clement will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hong Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Li tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clement paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Li stuffs the takedown attempt from Clement. Clement gets slowly back to his feet.
Li tries to clinch but Clement is having none of it.
Li moves in looking to clinch but Clement pushes him off.
Li fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Clement keeps the fight on the outside.
Clement shoots in for a takedown but Li shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Clement. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Clement counters with a nice double leg into side control. Li won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Li is looking for a sweep.
Clement passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Li!

Clement moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Li has worked his arm free - good work by Li!

Clement goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Li rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Clement's guard! Nice work there by Li!

Clement looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Li has picked Clement up and slammed him! Clement can't keep hold of the triangle and Li manages to pass to side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Li drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Li can't get the takedown.
Clement stops a takedown attempt from Li.

Li's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Li tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Li moves in looking to clinch but Clement pushes him off.
Danga de danga de dang - Li scores with a four punch combination!
Li throws a right and a left that both miss.
Li tries to clinch up but Clement circles away and keeps his distance.
Li keeps Clement at a distance using the push kick.

and Clement counters with a nice leg kick.
A good leg kick by Li.
Clement on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Li. Li obviously looking to wear him down.
Clement throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Li tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Li has Clement up against the cage in a clinch.
Li wants a takedown.
Clement is trying to break the clinch but Li has him pressed against the cage.
Li keeps control of Clement as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Clement looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Li breaks the clinch.
Li fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Clement has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Li tries to clinch but Clement is having none of it.
Clement misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Li is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Clement fails in his attempt to clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hong Li was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Li wants to clinch up but Clement keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hong Li dominated that round.

Clement takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Li lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Li works over Clement's head and body with a nice combination.
Clement doesn't manage to clinch there - Li circles away.
Li tries to clinch there but Clement circles away.

Clement has closed the distance and engaged Li in a clinch.
Clement has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Li has picked Clement up - he's going for a ride! Li dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Li is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Clement reverses the position - he's now on top in Li's guard.

Clement pushes down on Li's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Clement is looking for a kimura but Li is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Clement to get the leverage.
Li really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clement. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Clement looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Clement seems to be working for a kimura but Li defends the submission attempt.

Clement has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Li defend it? Clement steps over the head and cranks it - Li is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Clement!
