Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Cordoba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Paulsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cordoba comes into the arena with English Fire by CoF blaring out of the sound system. Paulsen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bullet Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Cordoba chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Paulsen can pounce on him.

Paulsen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Cordoba is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Cordoba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paulsen on the ground.
Paulsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cordoba is looking to escape.

Cordoba tries to lock up and control but Paulsen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Paulsen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cordoba's face.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Paulsen lands a big head kick that sends Cordoba tumbling to the mat! Paulsen takes a step backwards and waves Cordoba back to his feet - he wants the finish!
