The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes tries to clinch but Festa is having none of it.
Festa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Holmes but Holmes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Danny Festa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Holmes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Festa just stands there and leans against the cage.

Festa wants to pass the guard but Holmes is keeping the position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Festa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Holmes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Festa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Festa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Festa swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Holmes is thwarting Festa's attempts to control the position.

Holmes gets caught flat footed, as Festa shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Holmes can't keep his opponent in guard - Festa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Festa is taking a breather. Holmes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Holmes wants to control but Festa is keeping busy.
Holmes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Well, if Festa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
