Rood has chosen - as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sean Brophy had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rood throws out a loose jab but Brophy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rood wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Brophy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rood misses with a leg kick
and Brophy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Brophy looks for the body kick but Rood saw that one coming.
Brophy throws a sloppy head kick and Rood moves out of range easily.

Brophy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Brophy lands a nice hook to Rood's body. Rood takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brophy circles away quickly and effectively.
Rood takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brophy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rood sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rood comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Brophy slips a straight right by Rood.
Rood throws a series of strikes that have Brophy backpedaling.
Rood thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rood shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A nice leg kick lands there from Rood.

Brophy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rood was well out of range. Poor timing from Brophy.

Rood walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A solid leg kick lands there for Brophy.

Rood throws a hook but Brophy blocks it.
Brophy is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Rood chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Brophy can pounce on him.

Brophy tries to bum rush Rood with a series of wild strikes but Rood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rood takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Brophy throws a head kick but Rood moves out of range.

Brophy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rood has time to react.
Jab, jab by Brophy - just one landing.
Rood lands a nice shot that snaps Brophy's head back.
Rood clobbers Brophy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Brophy thuds a left hand into Rood's body.
Brophy scores with a hook to the body. Rood takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rood displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brophy throws out the jab.
Brophy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rood on the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rood checks the leg kick nicely there.
Rood jabs Brophy to the body, keeping him at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Brophy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Brophy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Brophy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brophy somewhat.

and Brophy counters with a stiff right hand.
Rood sizes up Brophy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Brophy counters with a one-two to the body.

Rood is rocked!
Brophy fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Rood to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Rood looks to clinch but Brophy throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Rood taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
