Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mya Nich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiril Yakovenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mya Nich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiril Yakovenko!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakovenko throws a series of punches but Nich moves out of range.
Nich tries to clinch there but Yakovenko circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Yakovenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Yakovenko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Yakovenko is trying to get an arm triangle but Nich is defending well.
Yakovenko lands a decent elbow from side control.
Nich is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Nich tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yakovenko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nich can't do much from the bottom here.

Yakovenko trying to control the action but Nich is working from the bottom.
Yakovenko is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Nich wants to get back to his feet.
Yakovenko tries to advance position but instead Nich slips a leg back in to half guard.

Nich trying to hold on to Yakovenko's head to control him but Yakovenko postures up.

Yakovenko stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Yakovenko shoots in and drives through. Nich sprawls well.
Yakovenko takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Nich tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Yakovenko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Still in half guard, Yakovenko seems content to control.
Yakovenko is trying to control the action in half guard but Nich is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Yakovenko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nich defends it well.
Yakovenko is thwarting Nich's attempts to control the position.

Let's hope that Yakovenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Yakovenko is trying to control the action in half guard but Nich is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kiril Yakovenko was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Nich is looking to clinch.

and Yakovenko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nich's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Yakovenko stands up from guard. Let's bang!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yakovenko moves into the clinch.
Nich tries to work over Yakovenko's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Yakovenko fails to pull guard.
Nice body punch from Nich.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kiril Yakovenko dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Yakovenko moves into the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Yakovenko scores with a nice short uppercut.

Yakovenko manages to break the clinch.
Yakovenko fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A jab from Nich finds it's way through Yakovenko's defenses.
Yakovenko wants to clinch.
Yakovenko connects with a high kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Yakovenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nich throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yakovenko.
Nich throws a series of punches but Yakovenko moves out of range.

Nich lands a left and a right that send Yakovenko crashing to the mat, dazed. Nich thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Yakovenko is rocked!

Nich stuns Yakovenko with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Yakovenko is still on wobbly legs! Can Nich finish him?
Nich Throws a clean left jab. Nich Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Yakovenko's chin! Yakovenko crumbles to the ground and Nich follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Nich!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mya Nich!
