PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Don Lola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). D comes into a darkened arena with his song building. AC/DC - TNT kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lola misses with a straight left.
D slips a jab from Lola.
Lola throws a hook to the side of D's head but D sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
D changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
D uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lola.

D manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lola on his heels. He'll look to pass Lola's guard now, I'm sure.
D is looking to work some ground and pound but Lola has wrist control.

We're going to have a standup here because Don Lola wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

D shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than D was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That was a close round but I would say that Don Lola will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Billy D showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lola takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

D throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Lola to regain full guard.

Lola is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of D's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take D's back!

D is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lola gets his way!
