Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Kauffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Budo Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kauffman comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Wayne- Up up and away. Rei has chosen Alice in Chains - No Excuses as his entrance music. Chad Kauffman could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Budo Rei's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Kauffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Budo Rei!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Kauffman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Budo Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rei thuds his shin into the meat of Kauffman's side.
Rei just misses with a punch to the body.
Kauffman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


It looks like Chad Kauffman has been cut.
Kauffman misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Rei counters with an inside leg kick.
Kauffman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rei throws out the jab.
Rei misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kauffman.
Rei swings away with a leg kick that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kauffman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Kauffman looks to land a combination but Rei avoids it well.

Kauffman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rei at a distance.
Kauffman lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Rei misses with a series of wild punches.
Kauffman checks the leg kick.

Kauffman rushes Rei and presses him up against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Rei.

Rei keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kauffman's efforts to push away.

Kauffman connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rei's hands.
Kauffman is looking to wear down Rei with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rei chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kauffman can pounce on him.
Rei throws a push kick but Kauffman slaps the foot to one side.
Rei lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kauffman circles away quickly and effectively.
Kauffman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rei is looking to land body kicks.
Rei misses with a hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rei fakes the leg kick and cracks Kauffman in the body.
Kauffman works Rei's body with a nice hook.
Rei fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kauffman manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed right hand from Rei misses the target.
Rei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rei.
Rei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kauffman was well out of range. Poor timing from Rei.
Kauffman ducks under a wild hook from Rei.
Rei loads up on a big right hand but Kauffman slips the punch.
Kauffman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rei scores with a punch to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kauffman slips a jab and a cross from Rei.

Kauffman avoids the head kick by Rei.
Budo Rei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kauffman on the wrong end of a nice jab.


Chad Kauffman's cut is getting worse.
Kauffman avoids the body shot from Rei.
Kauffman lands a jab to Rei's midsection.
Kauffman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rei looks to score with a jab to the body but Kauffman is just out of range.
Kauffman shoots in but Rei avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rei scores with a kick to the midsection.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Rei. Kauffman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rei will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Budo Rei dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rei throws an overhand right that lands on Kauffman's shoulder, as Kauffman tries to avoid the shot.
Kauffman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kauffman gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Kauffman shoots in and gets a takedown into Rei's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rei looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Rei not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rei pulls Kauffman in to control the position.

Budo Rei has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kauffman moves out of range as Rei throws a body kick.
A big left from Rei misses.
Rei misses with a two punch combination.
Kauffman moves away from the strike by Rei.
Kauffman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kauffman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rei fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rei jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kauffman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rei circles away quickly and effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kauffman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Rei tries a body shot but Kauffman blocks it.

Budo Rei seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kauffman moves in looking to clinch but Rei pushes him off.
Kauffman scores with a head kick. Rei tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rei pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kauffman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

A shot to the liver by Kauffman. Beautiful body shot.
Rei on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kauffman moves away from the strike by Rei.
Rei is looking to land body kicks.
Kauffman fails with the takedown.
Kauffman misses with the combination.

Kauffman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Kauffman trying to control but Rei is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kauffman postures up in Rei's guard and throws a big left but Rei blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rei seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kauffman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rei's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kauffman under the eye.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rei fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kauffman manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Budo Rei will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Kauffman moves forwards but Rei connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Kauffman is rocked!
Rei circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Kauffman to the canvas! Kauffman doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Rei keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Budo Rei!
Our winner, Budo Rei, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
