The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rodgers scores with a head kick. Engbloom tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Darius Engbloom has been cut.
Rodgers misses with an attempted mid kick.

Dan Rodgers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Rodgers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rodgers throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rodgers misses with an uppercut. Engbloom saw that one coming.
Rodgers lands a head kick. Engbloom smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Engbloom swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rodgers lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Rodgers tries to sprawl but Engbloom drives through with a takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rodgers has hold of Engbloom's hands but Engbloom slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Engbloom missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Engbloom is looking to advance position but Rodgers won't allow it.
Rodgers is staying active underneath Engbloom, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Rodgers regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Engbloom.
Engbloom passes Rodgers's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rodgers is trying to stand back up but Engbloom is controlling him

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Engbloom connects with a nice short shot to Rodgers's temple.

Engbloom looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Engbloom has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Engbloom cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Engbloom lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Engbloom lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Rodgers is rocked!
Engbloom could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rodgers can't escape the position.
Rodgers is trying to stand.
Rodgers taking shots to the head.
Rodgers is still in real trouble! Can Engbloom finish him?
Engbloom unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Rodgers wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Engbloom celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
