Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Nazario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ruffa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nazario gets caught napping as Ruffa dives in and scores a takedown. Nazario manages to retain guard.
Ruffa lands a couple of digs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruffa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nazario is keeping the position for now.
Ruffa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ruffa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nazario works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nazario is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nazario thows a huge punch but Ruffa dodges it nicely.

Nazario is trying to work for a kimura but Ruffa is defending well.
Ruffa is trying to stand up here but Nazario is controlling him well.

Nazario is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nazario is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ruffa kicks Nazario off and gets back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ruffa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nazario with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ruffa lands a nice short elbow.

Ruffa scores with a big shot! Nazario's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Nazario! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
