Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Riviere Hinds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Riviere Hinds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ron Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hinds throws a leg kick but Stevens moved away.
Nice body punch from Stevens.
Stevens scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Stevens throws a one two combo.
Hinds throws a hook but Stevens avoids it easily.
A cross from Hinds lands.
Stevens will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hinds swings for the body but Stevens moves out of range.
Stevens misses with an uppercut.
Stevens looks to land a combination but Hinds avoids it well.
Hinds throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stevens slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Stevens lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hinds throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hinds throws a wild body kick that Stevens sees coming a mile off.
Stevens swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stevens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Hinds takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Hinds thows a body shot but no joy.
Stevens moves away from the strike by Hinds.
Stevens throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hinds waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Stevens.
Hinds lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hinds throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stevens throws a right and a left that both miss.
Stevens gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hinds.
Stevens throws a right hand that Hinds ducks under and follows up with a left that Hinds also avoids with ease.
Ron Stevens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stevens lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hinds scores with a sloppy right hand. Stevens should have avoided that one.
Stevens lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hinds circles away quickly and effectively.
Hinds throws a body punch but Stevens moves out of range.
Hinds gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Stevens counters with a nice body shot.

and Hinds counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Stevens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hinds was well out of range. Poor timing from Stevens.

Hinds uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stevens.

Hinds postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stevens looks a forlorn figure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hinds lands a nice shot to the head.
Hinds prevents Stevens from getting the reversal.
Stevens sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Stevens is refusing to be controlled, as Hinds sits in half guard.
Hinds winds up and cracks Stevens with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hinds is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Hinds seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stevens for as long as he can get away with.

Hinds tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stevens is able to avoid easily.

Hinds has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hinds keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stevens's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hinds got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hinds has managed to get both his arms back between Stevens's legs - danger averted.

Hinds throws an elbow that misses. Stevens uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hinds's guard. Nice move by Stevens!
Stevens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Stevens wants to get up but he can't break Hinds's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hinds misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hinds takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Ron Stevens seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hinds fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stevens avoids it really well and circles away.

Stevens lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hinds!

Hinds closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ron Stevens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stevens takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Riviere Hinds showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hinds, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
