Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kid Kamakazi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamakazi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cooking by the book. Shields has chosen Last Resort - Papa Roach as his entrance music. Kid Kamakazi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Michael Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kamakazi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Shields shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kamakazi eats them both and turns towards Shields to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The fighters circle momentarily. Shields darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Shields throws a body punch but Kamakazi moves out of range.
Shields keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Shields slaps away a takedown attempt from Kamakazi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kid Kamakazi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shields scores with the left hand. Kamakazi knows he should have avoided that one.
Shields lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Shields scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kamakazi in his tracks.
Shields fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Shields fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kamakazi manages to avoid it.

Kamakazi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shields quickly recovers to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shields enables Kamakazi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shields manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We're going to have a standup here because Kid Kamakazi wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Shields throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kamakazi throws a right hand that Shields ducks under and follows up with a left that Shields also avoids with ease.
Shields connects with a single shot there.
Shields fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kamakazi manages to avoid it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kamakazi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Kamakazi wants to control from the top but Shields keeps moving.
Shields has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kamakazi works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kid Kamakazi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kamakazi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shields does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shields feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kamakazis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kid Kamakazi.
I think Shields has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
