Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akira Kurosawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey O Neil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurosawa comes to the cage accompanied by War drums. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akira Kurosawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mickey O Neil!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kurosawa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging O Neil to the ground. Kurosawa is now in O Neil's guard.
Kurosawa tries to free his leg and advance position but O Neil is retaining full guard.

O Neil really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kurosawa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kurosawa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kurosawa is keen to just control but O Neil is a slippery customer.

O Neil throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kurosawa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. O Neil is trying to defend but Kurosawa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kurosawa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and O Neil is now in Kurosawa's guard. A big mistake from Kurosawa there, giving up the dominant position!

O Neil must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kurosawa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around O Neil's waist but O Neil gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kurosawa off to one side.
