Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Seppo Pesonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance McBruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pesonen shoots in but McBruce avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McBruce keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Pesonen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McBruce is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pesonen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McBruce's back instead.
McBruce rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
McBruce has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McBruce is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pesonen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pesonen's back!

Pesonen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McBruce gets his way!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McBruce is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Pesonen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
McBruce has the hooks in. Pesonen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

McBruce is looking for the choke from the back position but Pesonen is controlling his hands well.
Pesonen manages to reverse the position and now he's in McBruce's guard. Nice work there by Pesonen.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McBruce is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pesonen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

McBruce has hold of Pesonen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pesonen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pesonen is in a horrible position here. McBruce smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McBruce is working for a guillotine from mount but Pesonen frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Pesonen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

McBruce closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pesonen to the mat! Pesonen manages to get full guard.
McBruce sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pesonen's guard.
Pesonen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McBruce wants to take a breather but Pesonen is having none of it.

McBruce has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pesonen defend it? McBruce steps over the head and cranks it - Pesonen is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McBruce!
