Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Dolphin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tito Santiago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Dolphin!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dolphin dives in and grabs Santiago's left leg, looking for a takedown. Santiago pushes down on Dolphin's head and hops out.
Dolphin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice takedown defense from Santiago. No joy for Dolphin on that attempt.
Tito Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Dolphin.
Dolphin works over Santiago's head and body with a nice combination.

Santiago drives through with a takedown into Dolphin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dolphin enables Santiago to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dolphin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown by Dolphin or perhaps it was just good defense by Santiago which made him look bad.
Santiago throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Santiago forces Dolphin back against the cage and clinches.
Dolphin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Santiago gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Santiago is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dolphin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Santiago breaks from the clinch.

Santiago closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dolphin managing to block the knees to the body from Santiago.
Dolphin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Santiago after a bit of a struggle.
Tito Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Dolphin.

Santiago pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Santiago explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Dolphin is breathing heavily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dolphin can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tito Santiago just wasn't active enough.

Santiago shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dolphin is rocked!
Santiago is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Dolphin goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Santiago!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tito Santiago!
