Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jussi Kermaperse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jussi Kermaperse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Styles!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kermaperse shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Styles as he avoids it easily.
Styles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kermaperse sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Styles somewhat.
Kermaperse wants to clinch.

Styles closes the distance and pushes Kermaperse back into the cage.
Styles looking for a takedown.
Kermaperse wants a takedown.
Styles wants to get back to striking at distance but Kermaperse won't allow it.
Kermaperse tries to pull guard but Styles holds him up against the cage and eventually Kermaperse drops back down to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kermaperse will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Styles looks for the body kick but Kermaperse saw that one coming.
Kermaperse shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Styles as he avoids it easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Styles looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Styles shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Styles showed some decent athleticism there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Styles throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kermaperse tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Styles is in Kermaperse's guard.
