The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jay has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ramirez uses from the top position.

Ramirez throws a right hand that Jay ducks under and follows up with a left that Jay also avoids with ease.

Jay shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramirez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jay's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ramirez lands a nice hook to Jay's body. Jay takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jay fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ramirez avoids it really well and circles away.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramirez tries to avoid it but Jay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramirez to the ground. Ramirez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
