PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troby Meida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meida comes into the arena with CB Sangue bom blaring out of the sound system. Troby Meida is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Troby Meida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tiago Silva!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meida swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
A head kick misses from Silva.
Meida throws a leg kick that misses.
Silva swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Meida moves into the clinch.

Meida tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.
Meida slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Meida's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Meida stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tiago Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva slips under a jab.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Meida shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Meida sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Silva is working an open guard so Meida takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Meida scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Meida tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meida stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Meida passes Silva's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Meida in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Meida decides to stand and escape the position.

Meida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Meida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Meida will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Meida seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Silva is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
